The organization has a project on biodigester toilets for schools and institutions to be used as a substitute of firewood and charcoal. The target populations are schools and colleges. The socioeconomic status is above average. The organization covers the nation.

Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

The social and cultural barriers are the mentality of turning waste into gas to cook as they believe it is still dirty.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

There is need for further awareness and mobilization for the fuels and alternative energy projects.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

There is need for research on the standardization procedures.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

There are no proper monitoring procedures hence the health impacts are not clear.
