ISO TC 285 Cookstoves Standards Update

On December 14, 2015 Winrock International and the U.S. EPA hosted a webinar titled "ISO TC 285 Cookstoves Standards Update”. On June 4, 2013 the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) established Technical Committee 285 (TC 285) to develop voluntary standards for cookstoves and fuels for people who traditionally use solid fuels. In February 2014 TC 285 approved resolutions establishing four working groups: (1) Conceptual Framework (2) Harmonized Laboratory Protocols (3) Guidelines for Field Testing, and (4) Social Impacts. Communications and Fuels Task Groups were also established to provide support to TC 285. The working groups first convened in Guatemala in October 2014 and met in Ghana before the November 2015 Clean Cooking Forum. During the webinar presenters from each working group shared an overview and update on their group, provided details on progress of the working drafts and answered questions from webinar attendees.
