Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

Poverty and high cost of electricity that is threatening the biomass, thereby increasing carbon emissions.


Market development for improved cooking technologies:

We are trying to engage the local communities by way of formulating standards and guidelines on increased energy efficiency, especially in cooking and heating. We engage in public dialogues using the media on the importance of preserving the vegetation cover.


Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

Promotion of hydro power energy over thermal energy


Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

Interested in developing standards for energy efficient cooking stoves, and advocating for compliance to emission levels for imported used cars to prevent emission levels and control dumping.
