Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

The social/cultural barriers existing are unawareness of the potentials and limitations of the renewable energy technologies.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

TAREA is involved in the market promotion through awareness raising activities and government policy advocacy. It was TAREA that advocated the removal of import and values added taxes on the renewable energy products.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

TAREA participates in the formulation of the National Energy Technology standards

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

TAREA is involved on the monitoring of the quality of the renewable energy products imported to Tanzania.
