Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

One barrier is the lack of grassroots level information about fuel efficient stoves.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

We plan to work with NGOs, trade associations, and public health officials at the local and state government levels. We are sourcing funds from foundations and corporate organizations as a means of subsidizing the cost of the stoves.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

I have experience in engineering design of combustion systems and presently I am comfortable with stove and heat exchanger designs. We shall be adopting Winiarski and Baldwin Design models for our stove.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

My organization is interested in reducing indoor pollution and monitoring designated test sites. We hope to generate valid data that will aid in optimizing the design of our local stove.
