Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

Our next target is to work with industrial giants towards ensuring the mass introduction of green energy in our homes, thereby reducing to the barest minimum the rate of pollution and consumption of fuel energy. We are starting with the local government, especially in the rural area. Our special focus is the rural community before moving to the urban area as we are working on the feasibility studies in this regard.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

Presently, we have no experience in market development for improved cooking technology but we are looking into collaboration with companies anywhere around the world. We are also looking into employing expert advisers in this regard.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

No experience so far in this regard.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

We have great experience in indoor air pollution as most of our volunteers have undergone various trainings in health and safety. We enlighten the local populace about the danger to health involved in the use of indoor cooking stoves that generate smoke. We also want to collaborate with organisations and companies that produce risk free cooking stoves to supply our organisation for further enlightenment, advertising and marketing.
Our organisation is community oriented, and the cooking and heating devices that are popular here are the kerosene stove, coal stove, and firewood. Our seminar topics are primarily based on creating awareness about indoor pollution as a result of heating and cooking devices.
However, we are handicapped to cover all the communities for financial reasons due to the fact that we are a non-governmental, and non-profit making organisation. We have so far recorded lots of success, but we need to collaborate to reach the utmost part of the communities.
