Our Focus

Primary Initiatives, Target Populations, and Scope of Work:

SEED Bangla Foundation mainly works in rural development, targeting those households who have a minimum of 3 to 4 cattle or 200 hens and who are using firewood, jutestick, dry cow dung, dry leaves, straw etc. for cooking, causing smoke. We build a home size biogas digester for them to use for cooking and lighting. For those who have no cattle or hens we make them improved cookstoves with help from GTZ. We have completed 850 biogas digesters and improved cookstoves and our target for next year is to complete a minimum of 1500 biogas digesters and improved cookstoves.

Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

SEED has a lot of experience with social & cultural barriers while implementing any project. Most of the people are illiterate so they're habituated to old cultural norms.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

SEED has its own market policy. There are a lot of the people within our active area, so they are aware about human rights and the environment. There is a great demand for our environmental energy.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

We get the latest technology from GTZ/SNV/IDCOL, They have parameters of standardization and their quality inspector maintains the quality.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

We have a mason group, and highly qualified field inspector. They always monitor the program by chain and our head office monitors the field work directly and collects the information by using the phone.
