Our program utilizes the Integrated Cooking method because Mother Nature is fickle at times. When the sun shines we opt to use the solar cookers to cook the food. When it is overcast or raining we use the "Rocket" stoves, which burn small twigs, brush, or biomass. Haybaskets are used to complete the cooking process or keep food hot for 4 - 6 hours. WAPIs are used to indicate when water is pasteurized-clean for drinking.

Our Focus
Solar Cooker - Offering sustainable technology to the residents of impoverished countries such as Turkey, Armenia, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Bolivia, and several African countries; empowering them to improve their quality of life.
The Integrated Cooking method relies on these basic elements:
Solar (sun's free energy as a supplement to fuel wood) Six brick "Rocket" Stoves (fuel and energy efficient) Haybasket (heat retained cooker-similar to a thermos) Water Purification Instrument (WAPI)
Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas
We would mainly be working on the first two focus areas. We teach solar cooking, and efficient rocket stove cooking that benefit people with low incomes and reduce indoor air pollution from cooking.
We train people to make solar cookers and rocket stoves so that they can use these forms of appropriate technology for themselves and sell to others as a boost to their income.
As noted above, we train people to make solar cookers and rocket stoves.
By teaching appropriate technology, we hope our participants will use cleaner technology for cooking and dramatically reduce indoor air pollution, but at present, we don't monitor exposure or the health of our participants.
Relevant Publications or Studies
We have publications for our paricipants to study.
Our Contribution to the Partnership
We can train people in the technologies identified above.
