To promote and encourage the use of solar thermal technology for sustainable development, protection of the environment from degradation, deforestation, desertification and uses for industrial purposes. To offer solutions to the climate change epidemic through the application of clean energy for domestic uses thereby preventing pollution and environmental hazards. To reduce the effects of carbon emissions on man and the environment. Our focus is on developing countries and our target beneficiaries are the rural people whose per capita income is low and they cannot afford to pay for fossil fuel derivatives. They form the majority of energy users especially at the margins. We seek also to inform and convince the policy makers to support the initiatives for the growth and development of their various countries.

Our Focus
Our primary initiative is to promote solar cooking for sustainable development, environmental protection, household and industrial applications. Our target is to achieve this aim by the year 2015, when all the 774 local government areas in our country might have being reached by our organization. We have worked at achieving this so far in many places of learning through demonstration of the new technology both to the public and to the neighboring countries like Togo and Benin Republic respectively. We visit the people in their communities and teach through demonstration the uses of solar cooking in place of fuel wood.
Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas
We have sought to conquer cultural and social barriers through the promotion of solar cooking in the communities, with food preparation demonstrations tailored to the tastes of people present. We have educated youths in educational institutions about the benefit of renewable energy through the application of solar cooking techniques.
Our strategy for promoting the program is through the process of teaching staff and students of higher institutions of learning in the country, so that the program will have multiplier effect among the people.
Because family sizes in some geographical-locations (including Nigeria) are very large and in other areas (including West African Countries) are smaller, different technologies are required. We do, however encourage large-scale manufacturing of capacity appropriate solar cooking technology to make it possible to achieve economies-of-scale costs and pricing.
We have used results-based findings to offer solutions to women who are exposed to smoke from cooking fires through the introduction of solar cooking to evaluate its impacts on exposure to indoor air pollution.
