We are piloting about 1000ha jatropha encouraging local farmers and community to intercrop on our land.We do also plough their land free of charge for them and give them free seedlings and free technical advice and guarentee output for the market. In future we are planning to use the output in providing electricity.
Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas
We consider our project as a social project, and the community has equity in our project.
we are going to use the jatropha to replace kerosene. With Jatropha the farmer can plant themselves and they like expelling the oil themselves and it exciting.
i believe in simple technology for rural areas. We need to build upon the basic technologies we have rather than bringing in technology which rural folk will not have idea no matter the number of capacity workshop you organise.
health and safety is our number 1 priority.we also believe in sustainability and distant ourselves from polluting the environment so we dont use mineral fertilizer but rather use the jatropha waste to create organise fertilizer.Under the UNMDGs number 9,ensures that we adopt environment sustainability method to restore our loss resources.
