New Online UN CSD Database

The UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) has released a new online database of CSD-registered partnerships for sustainable development. Partnerships for sustainable development are voluntary, multi-stakeholder initiatives which contribute to the implementation of the intergovernmental agreements in Agenda 21, the Programme for the Further Implementation of Agenda 21, and the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation. This database contains information about partnerships that have been initiated in the context of the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) and its follow-up, and is based on voluntary self-reporting from those directly involved. Users can either browse through the full database or search by parameters such as partnership theme and geographical scope. The database is available at http://www.un.org/esa/sustdev/partnerships.
