Sectors of Experience: Energy
Countries of Operation: Indonesia

Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

In addition to using posters and flyers to provide information on operations & maintenance of the ICS, field workers address habits in operations and maintenance of the ICS with trainings and demonstrations.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

By using a commercialization approach.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

Until now we have disseminated ICS using a mould and mass produced stove using a pattern for the dimensions and improved the ventilation by installing chimneys, windows, cooking windows, and making a gap in the roof. The area of the ventilation is not less than 20% of the area of kitchen floor.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

Using Bacharach CO monitor and using ambient air quality standard (EPA, OSHA, Ministry of the Environment of Indonesia).

Relevant Publications or Studies

We have publications in Indonesian language: ASAP (meaning smoke), many manuals about how to make ICS and kitchen Improvement.

Our Contribution to the Partnership
