RRAFDC (Rural Region and Agro-forestry Development Centre) is a non-governmental, non-profitable social organization and working for the poorest people of rural community in the field of agro-forestry and rural development. It was established in 2000 (2056 B.S.) by a team of like-minded, young and experienced professionals having multidisciplinary background i.e. Forestry, Sociology, Agriculture, Economics and Health. It is registered in District Administrative Office Bara/Govt. of Nepal and is affiliated with Social Welfare Council, Kathmandu. It is also affiliated with NGO Desk, Civil Society Development Council and NGO Federation. Since its establishment, it has undertaken several project activities in the field of environment conservation, poverty reduction and sustainable socio-economic development through food security, skill development and women empowerment. Now, it has been working in Bara, Parsa and Sarlahi districts. Being inspired by its current achievements, it has planned to extend its services to other several districts in the co-ordination and collaboration of Private Companies and Line Ministries. Manage gender and equality. Mobilize local resources. Uplift socio-economic status of rural community. Change traditional cropping system. Goal Improved living standard of rural people through local resource management and sustainable agro-forestry development. Objectives To create awareness among rural people on environment conservation. To create income generating opportunities for rural farm community. To support people to adopt agro-forestry technology. To promote and mainstream women's participation in development activities. To promote social harmony by creating awareness among rural people on social evils, negative discrimination, socio-cultural misconception. To develop and promote alternative source of energy. To develop an effective and equitable marketing information systems for rural enterprises. To promote awareness level in community for self-contributed rural development. Policies/strategies People participation will be an integral part of implementation of community level activities. Gender and equality issues will be incorporated in all activities. Emphasis will be given on institutional capacity building of rural people for sustainable development. The organization will adopt integrated development approach for the development of community. Get people involved in all stages of program i.e. planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and benefit sharing stage. Emphasis will be given on conservation and promotion of indigenous knowledge and technologies. The organization will always bear national plan on mind while planning development activities. Priority will be given to children, women, poor, DAGs, so-called Dalit and other scheduled caste for community development. Promotion and development of Improved Cookstoves and promoting the biomass briquette technology to improve indoor environment which is ultimately save and conserve the forest as well as forest.
Promotion and opportunity given to the local based interested people to market and to disseminate the information on Improved cooking technologies.
As per availability of resources, many types of models of ICS and high quality charcoal can be produced and promoted for the standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation.

Our Contribution to the Partnership
My organization has a detailed and long experience in the indoor environment improvement technologies by promoting the different types of Improved Cookstoves, Bio-gas plant installation and briquetting technologies through better group based approach. My organization will contribute for the extension of the rural technologies for the betterment of either rural or urban communities. As it is a Resource organization in the alternative energy area, it will share and transfer the skills to the other regions and areas to get global benefit. Currently, it is working also for the minimization of Carbon dioxide production by absorbing the carbon dioxide and producing more oxygens through plantation of more tree species and introducing less carbon producing stove technology.
