Instituto Nacional de Ecología (INE)

Mission

INE is involved in generating scientific and technical information on environmental issues and the training of human resources, in order to inform society, support decision making, encourage the protection of the environment, promote the sustainable use of natural resources, and support the Secretary of the Environment and Natural Resources in reaching its goals. INE conducts studies and applied research on personal exposure to air pollutants. Over the last three years it has conducted studies to evaluate interventions on improve stoves and in public transportation. At present it is implementing techniques to monitor and analyze air pollutants, particularly particulate matter and volatile organic compounds.
