Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

We have just begun. We are however conscious of the need for sustained publicity and to make products available and affordable. We need help in this area to sustian the campaign and make products avialable. We have seen encouraging enthusiasm from our locals. We are very optimistic our women know what they need, clean air, clean kitchen. Good health is precisely what this initiative is out to promote, restoring the dignity and happiness of our women and girls.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

Will provide details later.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

The need for some form of local adaptation is still being considered. But we shall convey this request if it becomes very apparent we need to do so.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

We have not undertaken any yet, but I think we shall also look into this area in due course in collaboration with the country representative and Nigeria Director of Operation GAIA.
