The Horn of Africa Regional Environment Centre and Network (HoA-REC/N) is seeking a Integrated Solar Cooking Project Officer in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Major Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Energy Unit Coordinator, the Energy Expert will assume the following duties and responsibilities.
- Plan, lead, coordinate and control the activities of the project related to Integrated Solar Cooking, in close collaboration with the Solar Cooking Foundation the Netherlands (SCN), which is an associate partner of this project.
- Actively liaison SCN, internal and external partner organizations concerning technology choice, training, marketing and setting up business modalities;
- Liaise between SCN and all stakeholders with regard to annual planning and implementation;
- Assist in the preparation, reviewing and consolidating work plans, periodic reports, project proposals and budgets of the activities of SCN in the country;
- Conduct regular site visits to plan and monitor the implementation of activities, not limited to but with focus to Arsi Negele and Ada’a woreda’s.
- Represent SCN in relevant meetings in close consultation with SCN.
- Actively network with involved stakeholders, both government as well as civil society and private sector, to increase awareness, commitment and to share resources, knowledge and experiences;
- Perform any other duties assigned by SCN and the Energy Unit coordinator pertinent to the specific project.
