Our Focus
Kiva Carbon operates in West Africa, and has been working on improved stoves projects since 2007, with a pilot project in Mali. The most adavanced project is currently in Niger (Rocket Stoves, called "kiva-eco" stoves); in this project, Kiva Carbon operates as a consultant-adviser . The stove is designed to replace the 3-stone fire in poor households, mainly in rural areas; this project will produce 15,000 stoves each year by year 3, which means the production of 500,000 VERs over a 10 year period. Beyond this project, Kiva Carbon, with other partners, wants to set up a non-profit company in order to capitalize the experience gained, share skills, and spread improved stoves projects at the very best cost.
