Our Focus
To introduce women to the use of solar dryers in business, harnessing and use of home made cooking gas with household kitchen waste. We are starting with trainings to women on entrepreneurship ideas and introducing them to the different options of biogas and biomass stoves available. We concentrate for now on the rural areas of Kaduna and Kano states but we hope to scale up once the women are able to identify a preference as to these cooking alternatives. We will run a pilot project in a chosen area to test acceptance and sustainability.
Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas
Most women in these parts where we work are timid and mostly in Purdah but the advantage we have is that we are a women's association run by women, and as such we have easy access to these women and are able to introduce them easily to these alternatives.
We are most interested in getting the women to know the availability first, and marketing will come later.
Yes we would like whatever technology we will introduce to be up to standard and reliable ensuring a long lifespan and sustainability of the project.
Once we get a stove program underway we will use the best available technologies and methods for monitoring.
