Our Focus

Primary Initiatives, Target Populations, and Scope of Work:

Our Programs - Clean Cooking Stoves & Solar Lighting

Our Projects are focused on creating jobs, saving the consumer money, and benefiting the environment. We provide business training for people in developing nations, like Haiti. In addition to education, we also assist with startup costs in the form of micro loans and startup products. We are focusing our efforts on environmentally friendly products like solar lanterns, solar flashlights, clean cooking stoves and home electrification from solar or wind.

Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

A hand out only lasts as long as you are there handing it out. Training, education and business skills will last a lifetime and beyond. People in developing nations, like Haiti, have survived on hand outs for generations. What the people really need are business skills and opportunities to provide and earn a living.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

Our objective is to empower people to become self-sufficient by utilizing sustainable clean energy and to provide the necessary resources required to become a successful entrepreneur. The target group that we seek to educate and finance is as follows (in order of emphasis): widows, single mothers, young adult orphans, and men. Our organization will focus on solar energy, clean cooking stoves, business education, women's empowerment and wind energy.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

Clean Compassion provides basic business training and environmentally friendly products to people in the developing nations to sell at a profit. All products that we supply must benefit the consumer and the environment. As an example, the consumer using a clean and efficient cooking stove will save about 50% on fuel thus reducing deforestation. The stove also reduces the amount of air pollutants by up to 70%; it is a win for the consumer and a win for world. The same is true for solar lights. The consumer does not spend money on candles or kerosene thus reducing air pollutants and the risk of fires. Clean Compassion is the importer, wholesaler, financier and educator. All products are sold with little or no markup. Our vision is to pass the savings onto the seller and consumer.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

Follow-up, training and monitoring are key to the programs.
