Our Focus

Primary Initiatives, Target Populations, and Scope of Work:

Chip Energy initiatives include its 60 kW (200,000 btu) biomass furnace and "Dragon" that provides substantial thermal energy with extremely low emissions. Smaller systems have also been successful.

Sectors of Experience: Renewable Energy
Small Business
Micro-gasification
Countries of Operation: United States

Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

Chip Energy activities have been primarily in North America.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

Chip Energy has recently started production of the "Stove Pipe" stove that uses TLUD Top-Lit UpDraft technology.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

Technology standardization can be overemphasized when it can exclude the newest innovations, of which there are many for cookstoves, and many more yet to come.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

We support monitoring, but are not active in this field.
