CAMGEW has as vision “Changing lives of women, children and communities while protecting the environment.

CAMGEW works on biogas as a source of clean energy that can replace firewood used for cooking. CAMGEW seeks to promote biogas systems for family farming, for integrated agriculture and cooking energy needs of the family that is clean and environmentally friendly. Families in rural areas have small scale animals whose dung could be used to provide biogas for cooking and biogas slurry used to scale up agriculture. The slurry is a good pesticide for the farms.

Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

This technology (biogas) is still expensive and local communities do not know much about it.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

Biogas has a great market both as an energy source and for the manure it produces.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

We have done research on biogas systems as sources of energy and as sources of biofertilizer with SHUMAS Cameroon.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

This technology is practical and good for poverty alleviation.
