Bright Generation Community Foundation

Mission

Bright Generation Community Foundation strives to offer affordable, high quality social service options dedicated to promoting and strengthening the economic and social well-being of children, the youth and women to earn a better living. Our Energy project will educate Ghanaians on the dangers of Indoor Air Pollution (IAP) and measures to reduce IAP while providing access to affordable cook stoves and solar lanterns.

Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

Build awareness about the benefits of improved stoves and explore ways women in the rural areas can become more involved in disseminating improved household energy technologies.


Market development for improved cooking technologies:

We are collaborating with a US based manufacturer who manufactures an award winning improved cook stove for the poor.


Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

Bring a high-quality product to market that offers rural and peri-urban families the opportunity to burn wood easily, safely and efficiently.


Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

Measure the indoor air pollution impact of using the chimney-less rocket stoves by surveying the common cooking practices and devices being used in rural and peri-urban communities in Ghana.
