Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas

Social/Cultural barriers to using traditional fuels and stoves:

Aid Organization has experienced a lot of social & cultural barriers while implementing these projects. People are habituated to old cultural norms. It is difficult to break certain practices. Aid Organization is working to make the user comfortable with the new technologies. Aid Organization is creating a belief about the importance of clean technologies such as ICS & Biogas, Biomass and Solar.

Market development for improved cooking technologies:

Aid Organization has a marketing policy of its own. Aid Organization is making its position with ICS and Solar among beneficiaries, giving them incentives, taking minimum contribution for ownership, giving them real life examples of the benefits of ICS and Solar etc.

Technology standardization for cooking, heating and ventilation:

Rural people usually place less importance on designing the kitchen.

Indoor air pollution exposure and health monitoring:

Aid Organization monitors all of its projects with field level manpower.
